About Me

I am an ER nurse, new to nursing, and new to the ER. I am terrified, exhilarated, and I LOVE my job. I have created this space to share and archive the lessons that I am learning, to blog about my day to day experiences, and to provoke discussions and dialogue with other ER nurses and healthcare professionals, and the general public on all things related to nursing, health and healthcare.

Welcome to ERNurseJournal.com

Thank you for stopping by. Whether you are an ER/ED nurse, a nurse, a healthcare professional of any other kind, a student, a friend to a nurse, a patient, or just someone who stumbled onto this website by accident, there is, or there will be something here for you.

ERNurseJournal.com is just that, the journal of an ER nurse, starting out in the Emergency Room, wet behind the ears, just graduated from school. This place on the web will chronicle my journey into the world of ER nursing, and I will muse upon and share the things I discover and learn, laying them out in such a way that I hope will convey everything that I have learned and experienced without violating any ethical or privacy boundaries. This is my record, my journey, and I invite you to share it with me.

As I grow and learn, I expect that this website will grow with me, so stick around, tell me your thoughts, share your story.

Well done

I just came here from Emergiblog and I'm delighted I did. You write well and you care deeply, and that is a powerful combination for doing good in the world above and beyond your work directly in the ER.

Yep, stumbled here on accident. Kudos to the RN's though. Hard work, with noble reason, for little money. My hat is off to all of you.

Great blog! It's awesome to see that you have taken the time to put RN's at the forefront. It's not often you hear about it. Thanks again..

My mom is a nurse and we also sell medical products on our site, so I'm trying to learn as much as possible about nursing and the medical field. I've already learned a lot browsing around your site. Thank you.

Nurses in business

Submitted by Robin Howe, RN (not verified) on Tue, 04/14/2009 - 14:59.

Hi there,

This is a great Blog! I am a nurse and have been for 15 years and in healthcare for about 30 years. I would love to encourage other nurses to start their own business! I did and love it. I started an online retail store www.ContinenceConnection.com and we specialize in coaching individuals into the proper incontinence products. We carry a huge selection of high quality incontinence products and supplies and also urologicals, skin care and peri products. I also have a private practice as a Continence Nurse Specialist and treat people for incontinence. Check it out at www.RobinHowe.net and www.CoreNurse.com

I wish everybody great success!! e-mail me if you have any questions.

Kindest regards,

Robin

hi there..i ran across your blog when i tried searching for ER NURSE..im an ER nurse as well..i deal with the same patients and complaints as you are..believe me..youll see the most unusual things there..youll handle all kinds of patients..and youll experinece alot of loss...downside is..as you get the ER trend and master the ER care..youll lose your sympathy over dying patients because it would just be a normal everyday stuff..youll always thought that pain is being over reacted..

Stumbled here by accident. My mom is a nurse and so I love to read anything about what she does. And I guess you have things in common. You have a nice blog.
